SOLUTION
The main purpose of the expansion work carried out on the San Dock wastewater treatment plant in Liverpool between 2012 and 2015 was to keep the River Mersey clean.
The plant is an important project for the city of Liverpool as it ensures all the wastewater is treated before being discharged into the River Mersey, completely clean and causing no harm to the environment.
The METALUSA Forteko® vertical formwork system was used in the formwork of the walls, pillars, panels and beams.
The Forteko® system is designed to withstand concreting of up to 90 Kn/m² pursuant to the conditions of standard DIN 18218.
All the versatility of the Forteko® system was put to the test in this work, using different combinations of measures to ensure the concreting of the different surfaces was executed in accordance with the specifications of the project.
