CHALLENGE
– The stabilisation of the Adapt Multidirectional system at the top of the building.
SOLUTION
The “Éspace Leopold” complex, located in Brussels, Belgium, is a group of European Parliament buildings built in 1989 and which are home to several European Union committees and bodies.
Metalusa´s Adapt Multidirectional System was used in this rehabilitation project due to its versatility and safety.
The configuration of the buildings, with pillars rising half way up and the respective open areas, as well as the outdoor finishing materials, meant the structure had to be fixed to the wall with fasteners all along the structure and attached to the scaffolding at the top of the building.
This also took care of the lateral forces caused by the effect of the wind.
