CHALLENGE
SOLUTION
The assembly of temporary roof structures is always a complex and sensitive task in Engineering.
The layout of the buildings, usually old and in need of restoration work, together with the limited space available, pose additional difficulties to this type of work. In many cases, the use of hoisting means proves impossible, which implies the assembly of support structures inside the building.
In this case there was no need to assemble these structures as hoisting machinery was available.
The scaffolding needed to be self-supporting in order to support the roof, as it proved impossible to attach the scaffolding to the building.
The entire structural calculations took into account external forces such as the effect of the wind and rain, which is considerable in this region.
