CHALLENGE
– The design of the high-load shoring structure in accordance with the stability project.
– The need to create a road inside the falsework for the passage of support vehicles until the project has been concluded.
SOLUTION
The construction of the João Abel de Freitas tunnel, an open-air road tunnel, was carried out using Towrok shoring towers.
Towrok towers are composed of elements that, after being assembled, form a high-safety rigid structure with a load capacity of at least 100 kN per element or 200 kN per tower.
The work arising from the construction of the tunnel placed an additional challenge on the Towrok structure: the need to create a road inside the falsework for the passage of support vehicles until the project had been concluded.
The Metalusa Engineering Department accompanied the work, providing all the necessary support for the correct use of their equipment.
This was another job successfully completed by a partner using Metalusa equipment.
