CHALLENGE
– The structure needed to be stable with pedestrians crossing while resisting the effect of the force of the wind due to the harsh weather in this region and the wind generated by passing trains.
SOLUTION
Dinant is located in southern Belgium and the region undergoes severe weather conditions, particularly in winter.
The local authorities decided to install a walkway to ensure the safety of rail transport users.
The footbridge – provisional until a definitive solution has been found – had to guarantee the safe passage of pedestrians, while resisting the force of the wind generated by inclement weather conditions and passing trains.
Metalusa Export & Engineering developed a solution using the self-supporting Adapt Multidirectional system.
